Karen has called upon the relevant resources at learndirect to construct her learning and that of her staff, to benefit her business. She is highly committed to filling skills gaps and continual development of staff.

Their Story
Four Paws Aqua is a dog hydrotherapy business in Portsmouth and its founder, Karen Standen took a range of courses at Training Associates to improve her computer skills prior to starting the business. The company’s nominator said that without the help and support of learndirect the company wouldn’t be where they are today and it has given Karen and her staff the necessary skills to develop the business, such as designing leaflets and business cards.

On receiving her award, Karen Standen from Four Paws Aqua said:

I have dyslexia and found it hard to find work, so I decided to start my own business. Running my own business I don’t have much time to learn, so learning at my own pace, when it’s convenient for me, is fantastic.
