| Hello everyone |
We have a toy Poodle called Saffy, the apple of Mum's eye and a lovely little girl.
At the age of seven months she was diagnosed with crumbling femurs and was operated on to remove her hip joints. With no hip replacement available for such a small dog (Saffy is only 3.5 kgs!), her hips are supported purely by muscle. At first her post-op recovery was very slow and painful.
Then in August we took her to Karen at 4 Paws for Hydrotherapy swimming. After only a couple of sessions she was showing major signs of improvement and her mobility was increasing to a remarkable level. Now, four months on she is better than ever, running and jumping around and has now been off pain relief since November. This is all in no small part thanks to Karen and her care and expertise with Saff's Hydrotherapy sessions.
Saffy also loves her swim classes, getting incredibly excited when her "cape" is brought out. She is just coming to the end of her Hydrotherapy, but will be continuing with fun swims from now on.
Next we have her little sister, Maisie, to introduce to fun swims. I have no doubt she will love it as much as her big sister.
Huge thanks to you Karen for everything you have done to help our little girl, Saffy, get well and become the fit and healthy dog she now is.
